Is Port Orange a good place to live?

Port Orange is one of the best kept secrets in Florida. Port Orange is so close to everything! You are just a short way away from the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse, Daytona Beach which offers racing, shopping and dining, golfing, and of course the beach. There are many restaurants and nightclubs to choose from and there’s always something happening.

Port Orange is a short drive to Jacksonville, Cocoa Beach and Orlando. You have many options for doing the things you love in Port Orange, especially if they involve water, as you have the ocean and the Intracoastal.

“What I love about Port Orange is that they have great schools, a city council that listens to the residents, and I think living here provides a great quality of life. We are within 15 minutes of the ocean, minutes from everything in Daytona Beach, the kids have plenty of activities to get involved in, and we enjoy an area with less crime. We are also surrounded by a lot of great things, such as all the beautiful outdoor parks and nature trails in the county, and we are only a short drive from places like Orlando, St. Augustine, and Merritt Island.” – Current Resident

Types of Care: Memory Care

What Loved Ones Are Saying About The Retreat at Port Orange:

“My mom is at The Retreat at Port Orange. The whole facility is memory care. It is divided into those that need less supervision and those that are at the latter stages of dementia or Alzheimer’s, so she’s in memory care. They are supervised, but not like in bed or anything like that. So far, everything has been excellent, they’ve taken good care of her. She seems to be very calm and relaxed while she’s there. The people that work there are very pleasant and accommodating. Because of the COVID, we haven’t been able to do any dining together. The facility itself seems excellent to me. As far as I understand, there are activities that they do every day, plus they do daily exercises with them. I know that they have done some crafts, some things like that, other than the exercises; I do know they do that every morning.”

4.5/5

Types of Care: Memory Care | Assisted Living | Skilled Nursing | Hospice

What Loved Ones Are Saying About Brookdale Port Orange:

My mother passed away at 100 years old after spending almost her last eight years at the Brookdale Port Orange Adult Home. At such an age it’s difficult to enhance anyone’s quality of life the way the staff did for her. Healthcare services and other Provider coordinations were exceptional but beyond that she was afforded opportunities to participate in events to make the day enjoyable. And equally impressive was the continuous effort to communicate with her family and offer them every opportunity available to visit and participate in her activities. The staffs loving care, personal attention and support of her family make this facility one that should be highly recommended to all.”

Types of Care: Memory Care | Assisted Living

What loved ones are saying about Wickshire:

“My aunt moved to Wickshire Port Orange the 9th of this month. I did both in-person visits and virtual tours. I checked reviews on it while it was under a different name, and reviews were all good. I gave my aunt the final option of 3 locations, and she picked this one based on floor lay out, amenities, and staff. The rooms are beautiful; they’re spacious, her furniture and stuff everything went well. The staff is outstanding; the higher staff has been outstanding. I was looking for a place for my aunt for some physical assistance, ability to recover, be taken care of, be fed, laundry, and all things like that done. And they offered me the best options. Because of Covid, there’s not a lot of activities occurring. There’s stuff that is occurring that the community is doing in-house. So much stuff has been put on hold because of Covid.”

What loved ones are saying about Seagrass Village:

“My friend moved into Seagrass Village of Port Orange last March. I’ve been there, and I just got back last week. There was a lot of local stuff available in the surrounding few blocks that he can go to in a scooter. The facility is fairly new. It’s in a great location, it’s very nice, the people were absolutely fantastic, and they get fairly high marks from me for helping him with everything. The room was very nice; it’s roomy. He has a bedroom, a beautiful kitchen, a bathroom, and a nice little balcony where he can sit outside in the sun. The dining area is beautiful. A lot of tables are set up where people come in and dine, and he’s certainly enjoying the food. I just talked to him fifteen minutes ago, and he said the food is good, and the people are good. He has nothing but praise for them.”

What loved ones are saying about Benton House:

“What loved ones are saying about Benton House: My mother-in-law lives in the memory care facility at Benton House. Whenever we visit I marvel at the dedication and professionalism of the staff. No matter what the circumstances, they are always kind, upbeat and respectful with the residents. We often visit unannounced, and my wife’s mother is always clean, neatly dressed and had her hair done when we arrive.

They also have regular events for the residents, weekly happy hours, a super bowl party, pizza parties etc. and often they bring in musical entertainment, which my mother-in-law loves. In short, we are very happy with the level of care she receives at Benton House. When you want the personal touch to your assisted living experience, call the experts at Assisted Living Made Simple! What is Assisted Living Made Simple’s criteria?

As stated above, our criteria is extremely high for us to place your loved one in a community. We get to know your loved one, their likes and dislikes, how much they can afford because we do not want them to move again; we want to understand their social needs and their medical needs. It’s then and only then that we will recommend 3 or more places for your loved one to live. We then personally escort you to those places to show you and your loved one(s) around, we are not like the bigger companies that just give you a list of places and send you on your way.

We hold your hand every step of the way and we do it all for free, yes, free! We charge you nothing! Should we place your loved one into a community, we receive a portion from the community, not from you. If we don’t place your loved one in a community, then oh well, we hope we helped you out and wish you and them well.

Assisted Living Made Simple works for YOU!!!! We are with you and your loved one all the way, from start to finish! Let us guide you!
